Job Description

Overview Market Facing Underwriter, Middle Markets (Mid-Senior or Senior) at Zurich North America. This role focuses on underwriting and relationship management with broker partners in the Pacific Northwest, in Seattle or Portland (Portland virtual), with hybrid schedule. Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with broker partners and customers across all industries to support business objectives. Leverage Property & Casualty underwriting acumen across risk assessment, exposure evaluation and pricing to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business. Collaborate across claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting to gain knowledge in a growing and innovative industry. Grow and develop relationships with preferred distribution partners in an assigned territory using technical underwriting, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Qualifications Mid-Senior Underwriter Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of experience in underwriting or market facing area, or 6+ years in claims or underwriting support, or Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice path as described, with associate degree and related experience, plus knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines, and knowledge of quotes timing, and experience with Microsoft Office. Senior Underwriter Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and 5+ years underwriting or market facing experience, or 10+ years claims or underwriting support, or Zurich CIP path with associate degree and related experience, plus knowledge of Microsoft Office, quotes timing, and teamwork experience.
