Overview Financial Institutions Underwriter, Middle Markets (Mid-Senior - Senior) at Zurich North America. Hybrid opportunity with offices in Overland Park KS, St. Louis MI, Chicago IL, Wisconsin, or Indianapolis. This role focuses on serving as a customer advocate, understanding unique risks, and delivering end-to-end solutions for Middle Markets Financial Institutions insurance needs. Responsibilities Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, partners, and customers across industries to support business objectives. Leverage Financial Institutions underwriting expertise in risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing to generate and maintain a profitable book of new and renewal business. Collaborate across units (claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, technical underwriting) to gain knowledge in a growing, innovative industry. Grow and develop relationships with preferred distribution partners in an assigned territory using technical underwriting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Qualifications Mid-Senior High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting or market-facing area; OR 6+ years in claims or underwriting support; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and related experience; OR equivalent combinations as defined; knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines; ability to quote in a timely manner; experience with Microsoft Office. Senior High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years in underwriting or market-facing area; OR 10+ years in claims or underwriting support; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and related experience; knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to manage timely quotes for new and renewal business; team-oriented experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Strong verbal and written communication skills Microsoft Office experience Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $75,000.00 – $165,000.00. Mid-Senior level: $75,000.00 – $125,000.00 with 10% short-term incentive eligibility. Senior level: $98,500.00 – $165,000.00 with 15% short-term incentive eligibility.
