Perfect for a High School Senior or College Student looking for a flexible schedule!!
August 23, 2025 start date

Hours available:
Shifts are Monday through Friday, before and after the elementary school day.
Shifts start at 6:00 am and go until school begins for morning program, and start when school ends and goes until 6:00 pm for afternoon program. Work anywhere from 2 to 10 shifts depending on availability.

-Kennedy Elementary (after school care only)

- Lumen Christi (after school care only)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the School Age and Day Camp Coordinator or School Age Site Lead, the Teacher is responsible for implementing the daily activities in the School Age Child Care programs for the Kettle Moraine YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Follows the DCF Wisconsin Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers, the YMCA Child Care Policies and the Orientation packet.
  2. Implements age appropriate curriculum by following lesson plans that contribute to the growth and self esteem of the children.
  3. Mentors assistants and volunteers.
  4. Maintains a safe, orderly environment, which includes housekeeping duties.
  5. Interacts with children at their level and provides supervision for a safe environment.
  6. Assists in snack preparation.
  7. Reports any problems/concerns to the supervisor promptly.
  8. Greets and communicates with parents, keeps all interactions positive and is sensitive to the feelings of children and parents.
  9. Communicates appropriately with co-workers.
  10. Builds and maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, volunteers, other staff, and the communities we serve.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must be at least 16 years of age.
  2. Educational qualifications in compliance with DCF Wisconsin Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers or the ability to complete them within the first 3 months of hire
  3. Current CPR/AED certification preferred; required within 30 days of hire.
  4. Must complete and pass fingerprint background check and Health Physical.
  5. The ability to appropriately interact with children at their cognitive level.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  1. Bloodborne Pathogens/Child Abuse Prevention every year

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. The ability to lift 40 lbs.
  2. The ability to participate in all required physical activities with the children.
