The company is located in San Francisco, CA. Julius is seeking a Backend Engineer to join its small, deeply technical team. This role involves leading the design, implementation, and scaling of systems powering both web and mobile products. Responsibilities: Build products that bring AI capabilities to millions of knowledge workers. Build and scale backend systems that power the core Julius product. Develop interfaces between the backend and web/mobile clients. Work on scaling and load balancing web server backends to meet rapidly changing needs. Qualifications: Strong experience with Python or an equivalent backend programming language. Strong experience with databases, connection pooling, and concurrency. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Familiarity with infrastructure, Kubernetes, and Terraform (or a willingness to learn). Extensible system design skills . 2+ years of engineering experience. Bonus Points: Experience or familiarity with R (the programming language).
